Topic: Win 10 Blue Screen Of Death when Closing a SComm port
Posted on: Aug 17 2020 at 09:46:59 AM
Win 10 Pro version 1909 build 18363.959
Simple VB6 program that has only two buttons, one to open a SComm port and a second to close the SComm port.
The open port command happens without error.
The instant the port is closed, the Windows Blue Screen Of Death appears (didn't even know that still existed ;) )
The error on the blue screen says "Stop code: KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE"
I would gladly register SCcomm if it did not crash my computer...

I don't think I would consider spending $70 for this anyway, since this forum received no help after 4 days...

Maybe because of covid they're a little under staffed.
You could have emailed. I always got a quick response by email
I think for that kind of query your best course might be to zip up your simple 2 button project and send it to "support at comm32 dot com" .
