The SComm32 sample code package includes a text file 64 bit info.txt that details how to manually (or programmatically) register the OCX. Just what I needed. To avoid the necessity of an install, I want to simply replace the application.exe and a copy of SComm32 in the application folder. The application can register the OCX, but what about the license key? Ideas? Thanks, Bob.

Licence key is only required by a developer (It's the developer licence) so if you're a programmer developing using something like VB6 or VBA then you run their installer and enter your activation code. That allows the OCX to work in a development environment.

But when deploying your finished executable, with the OCX, to your users you don't need to use their installer Just deploy your app and register the OCX yourself.
