I am using the full version of Scomm32 I have a small application where the users can select the baud rate, two of the choices are 9800 and 115200. Both work on some PCs Win 7 and Win 10, but on some machines selecting 115200 generates the error "Run time error 8012 port is not open"

Are you sure you're trying at 115200 and not some other similar number. For example in your first post above you mentioned 9800. Such a baud rate does not exist so I'll assume you meant "9600"
On the ones where you get the error - are you saying that if you select any other baud rate such as 9600 is no problem?
If you are able to select 9600 then try at other speeds, 38400, 57600 Do they work? So is it only 115200 that it fails?
